E - Waste
A mandatory authorization from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) that makes manufacturers, importers, and brand owners responsible for the safe collection, dismantling, and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) once it reaches the end of its life.
It is required for any entity involved in the supply chain of electronic items listed in the E-Waste Rules, including:
Producers & Manufacturers of electronic goods.
Importers of electronic equipment or components.
Brand Owners selling electronics under their own label.
Bulk Consumers (in certain regulatory contexts).
Required Documents
Business Proof: GST Certificate, Company PAN Card, and Certificate of Incorporation.
Identity Proof: Aadhaar and PAN of the Authorized Signatory.
Import License: Import-Export Code (IEC) is mandatory for importers.
Technical Details: List of products with their specific EEE codes and weight.
Recycler Agreement: Proof of an agreement with an authorized recycler to fulfill recycling obligations.
