RCMC Renewal (Registration-cum-Membership Certificate)

RCMC renewal is the process of extending the validity of your membership with an Export Promotion Council (EPC) or Commodity Board. While the certificate is typically issued for a block of five financial years, the underlying membership must be renewed annually by paying the subscription fee to keep the certificate active.

RCMC renewal is a legal and operational necessity for active exporters:

  • Expiry of 5-Year Term: When the primary validity of the certificate ends (e.g., if issued in 2020, it expires on March 31, 2025).

  • Annual Subscription Due: Every year, the membership fee becomes due on April 1st and should be paid by June 30th to avoid de-registration or late penalties.

  • Claiming Incentives: An expired or "suspended" RCMC (due to non-payment of annual fees) will lead to the rejection of duty drawback, RoDTEP, and other financial benefits.

  • Customs Continuity: Required to ensure that your ICEGATE profile remains active; an expired RCMC can lead to the halting of export shipments at the port.

  • Change in Business: If there is a major change in your export product category, you may need to "renew" by switching to a different EPC.

Required Documents

  • Previous RCMC Copy: A self-attested copy of the existing/expired certificate.

  • CA Certificate: A statement of export turnover for the preceding financial year, duly certified by a Chartered Accountant.

  • Updated IEC & GST: Latest copies of the Importer-Exporter Code and GST Registration.

  • Udyam Registration: Required if claiming benefits or fee concessions as an MSME.

  • Digital Signature (DSC): Class 3 DSC is mandatory for companies and LLPs to sign the renewal application.

  • Specimen Signature: A scanned copy of the specimen signatures of authorized representatives.
